Hi everyone, because this is the first time I write on a blog, I think it's time to talk about some facts about me. Well, first of all my real name is Maitte Valdivia (yes, I'm not really imaginative at creating blog names) but everybody calls me Negra (in fact. most people really don't know my real name). I'm 20 years old and I come from Copiapó, a city which many people don't know or confuse with Curicó. That's really sad, because in our city we have many beautiful places and landscapes, but all the people say it is awfully dry and arid, but people.. you're half wrong haha. Now I'm studying Physical Antropology, this is my third year studying and living here in Santiago and it has been a very entertaining experience in which I've met so many people and learned a lot of new things. I hope to keep on writing more things about me and my small-town girl stories later, bye!

Why BRASIL?

If you are looking for fun, party and meeting very enthusiastic people, Brazil is the best choice. Three years ago was my first time there and obviously I want to go back again. In that visit I learned many things about this country, like their music, their carnivals and their typically food, (It is not necessary to explain this because probably most of you know it) but I think I would like to go again in order to know other things more important than just tourist information.  This time I would like to go there to study something related to the Anthropology, and also a little of Brazilian history, but I don't really mind being there just studying, because in my case I prefer to do many different activities (like looking for a good job, of course) in which I can learn not only one thing. But first of all, my very big wish is to learn how to speak Portuguese, the most beautiful language in my opinion.

Judy, my favourite of all

If we talk about people we'd like to meet, my best option by far is Judy Garland. She was a very famous American actress and singer in the 40's, she became known mainly for the film The Wizard of Oz, which she starred when she was just 16 years old. The Wizard of Oz has been my favorite movie since I was 5 years old, the whole plot of the film is absolutely perfect, full of wisdom and innocence. From the first time I saw the movie, I was struck by the sweetness and charm of the protagonist Dorothy, a little girl who lives in Kansas with her uncles and who after a tornado is dragged to another world full of magic in which she must find the way back home, all this with the help of her new friends, the scarecrow, the tin man, and the cowardly lion. The Wizard of Oz is only a small demonstration of Judy's great acting ability.
